Driving Requirements

Customers must present a valid driving license and passport. If the license is not in the Roman alphabet (e.g., Chinese, Greek, Russian, or Arabic), an international driver's license along with the local driving license is required. For licenses outside the EU, regardless of the language, an international driving license is necessary. Only individuals listed and approved on the rental agreement are permitted to drive the rented vehicle.

Age Requirements

The minimum age to rent a car is 24 years, with at least 2 years of driving experience. Exceptions for drivers under 24 years may be allowed with an additional deposit and a daily fee of 15 EUR. The maximum rental age is 75 years.

Additional Driver

Additional drivers must meet all driving and age requirements. A daily charge for an additional driver is listed on our website.

Rental Rates

All rates are in EUR. Daily rates cover a 24-hour rental period. Overages of 1 to 3 hours are charged as a half-day, while more than 3 hours are charged as a full day. The minimum rental period is 24 hours.

Rates Include:

• Unlimited mileage for all vehicles.
• 24-hour roadside assistance.
• 18% VAT (Value Added Tax).
• Third-party liability insurance (T.P.L.) in line with government regulations.
• Theft protection (T.P.).
• Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.), covering damage to the vehicle with a deductible of 100 EUR.

Rates Exclude:

• Cross-border insurance (Green Card): 30 EUR per country.
• One-way rentals.
• After-hours pick-up/drop-off: 10 EUR per instance.
• Lost keys or documents.
• Supplementary insurance for driver or passenger injuries.
• Optional extras:
  • Child seat: 2 EUR per day.
  • GPS navigation: 2 EUR per day.
  • Delivery to a Skopje address: 5 EUR.

Insurance Coverage

• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with a 500 EUR deductible.
• Theft Waiver (TW) with a 500 EUR deductible.
• Third-party liability protection (TP).

Additional Insurance Options:

• CDW with a 200 EUR deductible: 5 EUR per day.
• Full insurance with 0 deductible (FULL PROTECTION): 15 EUR per day.

Methods of Payment

We accept Visa, Eurocard/MasterCard, and cash payments in convertible currencies or Macedonian denars. The deposit and total rental cost are required upfront.

Returnable Deposit

A refundable deposit of 100 EUR, either in cash or guaranteed by credit card, is required for each rental.

Delivery and Collection

Delivery and collection in Skopje are free during working hours. At Skopje International Airport, this service is also free during working hours. For other locations, additional fees apply.

Fuel Policy

Renters are responsible for fuel costs. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than when rented, refueling charges and a service fee of 10 EUR plus VAT will apply.

Equipment

Winter tires and snow chains are provided free of charge during the winter season (November 15th - March 15th) as per North Macedonian regulations.

Roadside Assistance

24/7 roadside assistance is available throughout Macedonia, including vehicle replacement within 24 hours. In case of minor issues, renters can have repairs done at the nearest garage, with expenses refunded upon providing an official receipt. For major issues, a replacement vehicle will be provided within 24 hours.

Cancellation Period and Rules

Free cancellation is available up to 15 days before the rental date, with a full refund. If not canceled within this period, the amount will be transferred to RELAX Rent a Car Skopje's account. If the reserved vehicle model is unavailable, a similar or larger model will be offered at no additional cost. Declining the offered model will void the refund.
